I’m proud to say our attendance at the 2008 Technology Conference was a huge success for both NFi Studios and me personally. The solutions and services of our team couldn’t be a better fit for associations right now.
This is a very significant moment in time for the association industry. It is becoming increasingly challenging for associations to expand and retain younger members. The “MySpace Generation” is looking to other online sources for their education and networking and this effecting the relevance of associations world-wide.
The product we highlighted at the event is MemberFuse, which provides social networking for associations. The interest we received in MemberFuse was extraordinary! With almost every association feeling the urgency to offer some type of social media tool for their members, we are glad we can deliver a powerful solution that fulfills this need.
I was also a content leader at the event. I spoke with John Gander from the Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE) and our session was titled “Association 2.0 – Creating Online Communities That Work.” The session was very successful with over 300 in attendance! Our session focused on the key success factors for associations to implement an online community. We also showed a demonstration of ACTE Interactive, which is ACTE’s online community for their members. And I seem to have struck a chord with at least one person in the session. Maddie Grant wrote a great blog regarding the session, humorously titled “Sever Case of Social Networking Envy”. It was great to talk and meet Maddie the second day of the event! Her involvement in the association industry and interest in Social Networking as a tool for members, makes her a valuable relationship for our team. That and she seems super cool! We at NFi hope to help Maddie and her association in any way we can.
